7up Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 Hi all, have had my mk3 galaxy for a few months now but had a problem with the CD player today. I had 4 Cd's in it and went to put another CD in and it took it and it played. I then went to put a 6th CD in and it wouldn't take it. Now it will only play the last one i put in and wont play the others, also i cant get them out. I took it to the dealers today and they had a look and said it would have to be sent away but it could take a while for it to come back. It might also have no Cd's as these might get broken. what to do Quote
DJAZS Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 I would suggest taking it apart and trying to get them out yourself, I'm not sure with the 6006, but I do know that with the Sony 6CD HU used in higher spec mk3 mondeos that this is a common problem, and the recommended action IF you successfully remove the discs is to never load in more than 5 Quote
davewill Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Unfortunately when CD's start getting stuck in the 6006, or won't eject, this is the start of major problems I experienced this with a 6006, and although i was able to take the cover off it and remove the CD's, when i tried to load again (with different CD's) i still had problems with them sticking, not loading etc Ultimately i ended up buying another one off e-bay, then selling mine for spares or repair  The only remedy is to send it off for specialist repair but i don't know cost I remember someone on e-bay offering a repair service for 6006 so this may help Quote
mumof4 Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 i would guess that a disc has slipped off its shelf thingy, easy done, especially if you are putting your own discs in it. i had a 6006e and it happened to me a couple of times, you need a T10 IIRC to get the lid off, id suggest taking it apart yourself, removing the discs, and try loading them again.
